The colour was created using thin sheets of rusting metal we found close to the studio. You can see the process of turning this waste material into the deep red base of the artwork on our Instagram. The desert daisy photograph was taken on a research trip to Yuendumu, Danica created the halftone and we printed the work in the studio in February this year. The process of masking and screen printing the halftone photograph is also on our Instagram. The work honours the desert flowers, adapted to survive in our red iron oxide soils.
